About the Role
The Controller will play a critical role in managing and improving the financial operations of the
company. Reporting to the CFO, this role is responsible for overseeing accounting processes,
financial reporting, compliance, and the development of internal controls. The ideal candidate has
experience in private equity-backed environments, is familiar with healthcare industry regulations,
and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
o Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance
with GAAP.
o Ensure compliance with private equity reporting requirements, including monthly,
quarterly, and annual reporting packages.
o Manage audits, including coordination with external auditors and preparation of
audit schedules.
Accounting Operations:
o Supervise day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
o Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy
and efficiency.
o Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
o Establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal controls to safeguard company
assets and mitigate risks.
o Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best
practices to support growth.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
o Collaborate with the CFO and other leadership team members to develop and
monitor budgets and forecasts.
o Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of opportunity for cost
management.
M&A:
o Support due diligence and integration eorts for acquisitions or other strategic
initiatives.
Team Leadership:
o Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and
continuous improvement.
Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to support the company’s financial
objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation required.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior
management role.
Prior experience in a private equity-backed environment is highly preferred.
Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred, particularly in multi-location or provider-based organizations, with experience managing the Revenue Cycle Management function
Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite). Experience with implementation preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
